Go figure!

I met someone today who told me that their favorite number is 843 1/2. I mean I can understand 843 or 844 just to keep it even; but come on…843 1/2??? On the other hand, she is pretty smart…but I can’t figure out how to work that number into my lottery picks! You see how quickly my life can get complicated? It never ends….go figure!

It works!

Good news…well so far! After replacing the timing gears, for a mere $750 on the car, I have had three days of trouble free driving! Hopefully this has solved the problem. That’s good news indeed. The gears had to be replaced anyway as the car just hit the 200,000km mark on Saturday. It works!

Nikki may be taking the early morning shifts at London Drugs, so she can get some more hours and a better schedule. It will be early mornings; but a work mate says she can get a ride to and from work, so that alone will save her an hour and a half worth of bus rides each day. Her other job however has nothing but conflicting hours, so she may be looking for something different there.
Nikki is still waiting on an official offer from Katimavik, which is just a formality, and should be here the first week of October. But she hasn’t decided for sure whether she is going or not. I hope she goes, as it would be a great opportunity missed otherwise.

I did some geocaching (see link above to the right) the other night for CBC radio. They wanted a shower radio hidden for a promotion of both CBC and geocaching. I finally got it done just as it was getting dark. The person that found it discovered it the next day at about 10am, after driving in from Delisle. I missed his name on the radio, but hearty congratulations none the less.

Damn!

I really want to go to the Stones concert in Regina next month; but I have no friends! Well, not exactly…I have no friends that want to go to the concert. Anyone who wants to go, just let me know and I’m sure we can work something out. I think that it will be a great time!

Car saga…I have a brand new fuel filter! Unfortunately, that wasn’t the problem. Now the replacement parts start to get expensive. I was hoping not to have to buy a new car before I go on my holidays next year; but might have to bite the bullet on this one. Damn!

WTF???

So I’m at work and I need to phone Rogers Communications to see if they have chased anybody up a tower and screwed the light bulb back in. Laugh all you want, sometimes it takes months to get done…and you wonder why your cell phone doesn’t work! So I get this woman on the phone..Anna Tomahawkmissile, or something like that. Apparently it’s not HER job to fix the lights…she delegates. Two things, how did she get a position to delegate, and why would she like living in Calgary? One of lifes many mysteries!
I mean, don’t get me wrong, Calgary is a beautiful city if you don’t mind the forty-five minute commute home everyday. And the housing prices are sooo reasonable! And the license for a young person to drive…nice! Keeps kids off the street, well not in cars anyway. And don’t forget…NO PST. But I’m curious as to why a Blizzard from Dairy Queen in Saskatoon is $4.19 + 7% PST ($4.49 total) and in Calgary it’s $5.29 and NO PST?? What a deal! Bu it is the place to go get work, just take your tent to live in, because there is NO affordable housing.
Oh well Anna, I’m probably just jealous! ;)

Anywhoo, the light was fixed two weeks ago or something; but she was keeping it a secret! I mean really now…wtf?

Further in the automobile saga…it died twice again yesterday, so it’s in the shop once again. This time I told him to replace the fuel filter. I have no idea if that’s the problem or not; but it’s the cheapest part to replace. I will update tomorrow on the results of that experiment!

It never ends…

The car died again yesterday…twice. It does start after sitting for five minutes or so. The second time it happened I was at Earl’s, so I just went back in for a beer! I love it when a plan comes together. Anyway, I drop the car of at the garage last night…they try all day today to make it die…runs perfectly for them…of course. Now I have the car back, so far so good.

So to kill my day I stained more fence. There are only two construction related jobs I hate…taping drywall and painting. But it went pretty good and I had to get it done. Next week saskatoon is looking at HIGH temperatures of 7C. Can’t stain at that temperature.

I’m picking up Nikki from work in about 30 minutes (car permitting). Then we’re off to the craft store to pick up some crafty things for my Christmas pressies! If you want something this year, speak up now…I’m making a list until end of the month and I’m NOT checking it twice!

Back to work tomorrow with just a brutal schedule…DDDDNNNND…it never ends…
