Graduation Day!

1.) Barney doesn’t care!
2.) Chisa doing Nikki’s makeup.
3.) Cap and gown.
4.) Nikki and I.

The day went great! The ceremony itself started at 9:00am, and other than forgetting our sash at home, which we retrieved, it went flawlessly. I cried when Nikki was on stage; but don’t tell anyone…especially her!

We went home for a bite to eat and started to prepare for the dinner and dance.
Chisa came over and did Nikki’s hair and makeup for the evening. Thanks again Chisa!
We arrived at the Prairieland building in good time and found our table without the use of a GPS! There were 2000 guests expected. I thought the food was excellent, and the presentation and speeches went well.

Then came the first dance! Nikki and I struggled through the dance, even though as most of you know, I can’t dance a step; but she was very patient with me! We left shortly after that and I returned to pick up Nikki’s dress later, as they had to change into “after-grad” clothes there. The after grad went well I believe; but I will let Nikki add a comment on that if she would like. I picked her up at 6:00 am and went for some well deserved sleep for both of us.

Congratulations Nikki, I’m so proud of you!

For Dad…on Father’s Day

Albert James Lind,
who passed away on Father’s Day, June 18, 1972.

I thought of you with love today
But that is nothing new
I thought about you yesterday
And days before that too
I think of you in silence
I often speak your name
Now all I have are memories
And your picture in a frame
Your memory is my keepsake
With which I’ll never part
God has you in His keeping
I have you in my heart.

Always, Jim

Free lunch for the first person to identify this tattoo!
Need to know what the tattoo means and who’s it is.
And in the event of a tie, location where photo was taken!

Graduation pictures! ! !

nikki2.jpg 5x7.jpg card.jpg 4x6smile.jpg nikki1.jpg     bronze.jpg

I just had to post some of Nikki’s graduation pictures.
They turned out so good!
The studio liked the bronze one above so much…
that they added it to their graduation display album!

It’s cold out!

This is soooo funny!
Ashley is trying to study for her final exams over the next eight days…and the power goes out! Not really a big deal, unless you’re house is heated by electricity and it’s winter in New Zealand! Hopefully, she can study while huddled around a candle! Lol.

Too cold to go outside and study, and getting colder inside! But six cups of herbal tea only has 14 calories and 3 carbs. More importantly it keeps you warm. The only downside is you have to use the BBQ to heat the water! Lol.

And because the power is off, she can’t read my blog and see that I thought it was funny.
Cus if she ever did, it would be me saying…it’s cold out!

That’s so special…

 webmistress.jpg

I just need to say a special thank you to Ashley for keeping me company on my latest night shifts. I had a brutal schedule the last while looking like this: NNNDDDNNN. Now night shifts are bad enough; but when you sandwich three day shifts in between, it messes with you. For those who work night shifts, and know about the internal clock…you understand. For those of you who don’t; consider yourselves lucky!

Anyway, Ashley has kept me company for all of my night shifts, giving freely of her time and energy. We did everything from online minesweeper, to house hunting, to cyber-shopping! Expensive tastes in houses; but good taste! And you are just too good at minesweeper, I need a simpler game to try to beat you at! lol. Shopping with you is always a blast though! I can’t wait until we can do that in person!

Hopefully, exams go well for you and I am sure that the holiday in Fiji will be a nice break. But then I need you to buckle down and get through your last term. We both know how important it is, so good luck! Am I invited to graduation? I’ll bring a gift! Seriously though, if there is anything I can do…

So once again, thank you Ash, for sharing your time, your life and your love with me…that’s so special!
