LIND, Albert James

LIND, Albert James
In memory of my father, who passed away June 18, 1972….Father’s Day.

Who’s to say where the wind will take you
Who’s to say what it is will break you
I don’t know, which way the wind will blow
Who’s to know when the time has come around
I don’t want to see you cry
Cus I know that this is not goodbye

Always in my thoughts, Jim

Barney Lind, brother of Clyde and beloved companion of Nikki, Bradley and James Lind, left us today for a better place.

Born in Lynn Lake, Manitoba..Barney and his brother were adopted at one week old. After spending his first two years of his life there; he along with Clyde and James relocated to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1996.

Barney made many friends in his lifetime in Saskatoon; but he especially loved it when Chisa came over wearing her black pants! Lol.

He always enjoyed his favorite pastimes…eating and sleeping! Just a rattle of the food bucket and you better not be standing in the line of fire between him and the food dish!

Barney went through a medical crisis about three years ago; but fully recovered quickly and was back to his old tricks in no time!

One of his new enjoyments was laying outside on the hammock…suntanning!

About two weeks ago however, a tumor was discovered that deprived him of one of his favorite pastimes…eating. After trying to combat this with a variety of medicines, with no good results; Barney has now left us for Kitty Kat heaven.

He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.   Rest in peace Barney.

I miss my Nikki :(

Nikki left for Grande Prairie, Alberta on November 22nd. It hasn’t even been a week and I miss her. It’s a pretty big adjustment for her too; but she’s trying her best, and next week I think her and her partner are in charge of things in the house! She’s a very organized young lady, so I think she’ll do very well at that! I wish her all the best, and if anyone wants to send her an email please do! I’m not sure if and/or when she’ll get to check her email; but always nice to have something in the INBOX besides spam!

…a piece of my heart!

I lost a piece of my heart today. It hurt…it hurt a lot.
Actually I didn’t really lose it, I know where it is and it’s in very good hands.
I know that it will be very well taken care of and used only when needed.
I know that it will be treasured for what it meant then, what it means now and what it will mean in the future.
Life goes on, things change. Circumstances that we thought were behind us, sometimes come back to test us. But what is really tested? Faith…love…commitment…trust? These things are tested in us every day. Some tests are harder than others, and take a long time to be completed. And some tests don’t have a right or wrong answer…just a result that must be accepted for what it is. I took the test, I passed, yet failed…life goes on!

True happiness is a rare thing. One must grab it when it presents itself. I did. It was something I hadn’t experienced in my life up until that time, and probably never will again. Do I look back on it and wonder why, thinking that it never should have happened? Or do I look back on it and wonder why not, glad that I took the chance to learn, to live, to experience something that I will remember until the day I die! Am I a better person than I was six months ago? Absolutley! I live, I experience, I love, I learn. Thanks for Toast!

Life is full of risk and reward. But how can someone truly experience reward without taking the risk. Is it worth it? I think so. But it did cost me…a piece of my heart!

What if…

I’ve recently had the opportunity to get to know a special person via the internet. She has made a significant impact on my life in a relatively short period of time. Her generosity knows no bounds. She is one of the most intelligent people that I have ever met. She is witty, humorous, and compassionate. She is thoughtful, caring, and energetic. She is kind, honest and spiritual. She pushes me to think, to explore all possibilities, to never underestimate the potential in myself.

Recently we chatted about the internet and how it has changed the lives of so many. There is no doubt that her and I would never have found each other had it not been for the internet. And although we may never meet in person, I know that my life has been enriched more than I could ever have imagined. It was a chance meeting, a fluke….no possible way that we could have discovered each other in any other way.

I am a strong believer in the saying that “everything happens for a reason”. While the final reason may not be apparent yet, we are learning about each other at every opportunity. It’s been a great journey so far.

And it leaves me wondering, what if….? What if we could actually meet one day? What if we have that “special” connection? To experience that one indefinable moment, when you just know that everything is right with the world. To look into each others eyes and know that you have found what you have been looking for…THE ONE. A person can dream of the future; but only when you pursue those dreams will you find true happiness and contentment.

It’s cold out!

This is soooo funny!
Ashley is trying to study for her final exams over the next eight days…and the power goes out! Not really a big deal, unless you’re house is heated by electricity and it’s winter in New Zealand! Hopefully, she can study while huddled around a candle! Lol.

Too cold to go outside and study, and getting colder inside! But six cups of herbal tea only has 14 calories and 3 carbs. More importantly it keeps you warm. The only downside is you have to use the BBQ to heat the water! Lol.

And because the power is off, she can’t read my blog and see that I thought it was funny.
Cus if she ever did, it would be me saying…it’s cold out!

That’s so special…

 webmistress.jpg

I just need to say a special thank you to Ashley for keeping me company on my latest night shifts. I had a brutal schedule the last while looking like this: NNNDDDNNN. Now night shifts are bad enough; but when you sandwich three day shifts in between, it messes with you. For those who work night shifts, and know about the internal clock…you understand. For those of you who don’t; consider yourselves lucky!

Anyway, Ashley has kept me company for all of my night shifts, giving freely of her time and energy. We did everything from online minesweeper, to house hunting, to cyber-shopping! Expensive tastes in houses; but good taste! And you are just too good at minesweeper, I need a simpler game to try to beat you at! lol. Shopping with you is always a blast though! I can’t wait until we can do that in person!

Hopefully, exams go well for you and I am sure that the holiday in Fiji will be a nice break. But then I need you to buckle down and get through your last term. We both know how important it is, so good luck! Am I invited to graduation? I’ll bring a gift! Seriously though, if there is anything I can do…

So once again, thank you Ash, for sharing your time, your life and your love with me…that’s so special!
